Hub hosts high-level panel at World Water Week

On 31 August, the Stockholm Hub on Environment, Climate and Security convened a High-Level Panel on Climate and Peace. Held as part of the World Water Week, the session explored how coordinated action on climate and peace can contribute to creating innovative ways forward to strengthen resilience as well as human and environmental security, in the face of climate change and environmental degradation.

The panel brought together climate representatives from the European Union, USA, and the incoming COP27 Presidency – Egypt, to advance the global conversation around valuing water and to reflect on the ways in which climate and environmental change leads to human insecurities and undermines sustainable, just, resilient, and peaceful societies.
